The issues were caused by crossing software boundaries and in some cases inserting vendor supplied drawings and/or blocks such as machine components that a vendor has designed for us . Feel free to pass it to your vendor also getting the warning.Īs stated in previous post, I specifically am writing about using "commercially licensed products" causing these issues.Īt no point in time have any of these files causing issue been generated by "unlicensed and/or student version" software. Please see the following FAQ for more information and feel free to let me know if you have any further questions.īut to help you find out which files DO have the educational watermark there is an app in the App Store that should help you find all the files that have been affected. It is intended that this watermark promote legitimate use of AutoCAD software licensed by students and educators through the Autodesk Education Community and any action to bypass the watermark is not permitted. This software cannot be used for commercial, professional or any other for-profit purposes. We try to give as much warning as possible when you open a file, but if one person opens up the file not knowing they are in a student version, it will haunt the drawing or block created in that version.Īutodesk does not support the removal of watermarks from designs created using software licensed by students or educators through Education Community. You never know what people are using and what they are sending you that is for sure. File BWM is a file I just generated as a test from my system. ![]() At this point in time upgrade is not an option. We cannot upgrade due to incompatibility of AutoCAD 2020 with ProjectWise. Attached is a file with everything removed as you asked. No one has a student version and none of the files I am having issues with were generated with any in house software. ![]() Myself and all coworkers are using a "Commercial Version" of 2019 AutoCAD. To use a student version of any software to produce parts and /or projects used in industry for profit is not and excepted practice for any company I have ever worked for in the past 30 years. At no time has a student version of anything been used to generate any of these files. This program is call Project Wise. I do not have any issues with the files we generate our selves. We use AutoCAD mostly to transition files that we make in house ourselves from SolidWorks into a third part vault program to store and maintain our files and tracks revisions etc. The files were not generated in SolidWorks. ![]() The files I am having issues with were sent to me by an outside vendor that made the files using a "Commercial Version" of AutoCAD.
